3 WEEK ORIGINAL MUSICAL (instrumental, vocal and drama)

The Little Bands 3 week music and drama Summer Camp will be from July 2nd - July 23rd. Students will learn to act, sing, dance and play instruments (beginner and advanced students are welcome) and will perform in a brand new, original musical. Camp will be all day, from 9-5 mon - fri and is open to everyone ages 8-17. Students will spend the mornings learning to play piano, guitar, bass, and drums. Everyone will learn to play all 4 instruments, and if you already play, don't worry, there will be more challenging parts for you. We will learn the songs from the musical through the unique Little Bands Method, in small groups with music teachers.
Little Bands musicals are written about characters who play instruments. So instead of singing with a pit orchestra, we learn the songs on the instruments and accompany ourselves while singing and dancing.
The afternoons will be spent learning the scenes, making sets and costumes, and participating in other show-related activities. Students will have lots and lots of fun as usual, and put on a wonderful show. The cost of the camp is $700 which includes everything (except food). Parents are asked to volunteer a few hours of their time during the 3 weeks to help with various production projects. The Little Bands Camp will accept 30 students this year with a maximum of 5 eight year olds. Registration will close June 1st. Rec and Ed Camps

All of the songs have fun lyrics and there will be plenty of playing and dancing. Students will have a great time learning together and working up to a fun performance. Students provide own snack and beverage. Instructor: Little Bands School staff. 1 week. Location: Abbot Elementary School.
